Chris Rix excelled in varsity football, baseball and basketball at Bishop Amat Memorial High School and Santa Margarita Catholic High School.
In high school, Chris received All-American honors and was named the Nike Camp MVP in Los Angeles. Chris was also part of the inaugural Elite 11 QB Camp, selected as one of the Top 11 High School Quarterbacks in the nation. Following his senior season, Chris was selected to Team California where as a captain he started at quarterback and helped lead California to a victory over Florida in CaliFlorida Bowl 1 at The Rose Bowl.
Chris Rix went on to receive a full scholarship to Florida State University where he became the first four-year starting quarterback in Florida State history, under Hall of Fame Coach Bobby Bowden. He earned freshman All-American honors, was named the ACC Rookie of the Year in 2001 and received All Conference recognition throughout his career. Despite missing nearly his entire senior season due to a severe ankle injury, Chris ranks second in FSU history in nearly every passing category, including passing yardage, attempts, completions and touchdowns thrown. Chris also graduated from FSU with a Bachelor of Science Degree studying Sociology and Communications. Following his college career which included 3 ACC titles and 4 straight bowl appearances, Chris went on to the NFL where the San Diego Chargers acquired him as a free agent. After his time in San Diego, Chris followed his heart and started his careers in both broadcasting and coaching.
As a coach, Chris Rix has been quarterback coach at Bishop Amat Memorial High School, South Hills High School, Bonita High School and has served as an offensive consultant for various CIF-SS and City Section football programs and camps since 2005.
As a sportscaster, Chris Rix is a High School football analyst for Fox Sports. He has served as a High School, College and Pro Football analyst, color commentator, sideline analyst and host. Since 2005, Chris has worked for major network affiliates including FOX, FSR, CSTV, ABC and ESPN. Chris Rix is often requested as a motivational and inspirational speaker as well as master of ceremonies for various community events, golf tournaments and charity fundraisers.
Coach Rix currently resides in La Verne, CA with his lovely wife Anita, sons Luke, Bobby, daughter Christianne and foster son, Eric.
